About the Author

Stories built from the joy of words and the thrill of uncovering what lies beneath.

Joslyn Ginn first stepped into another world when she played Mary Poppins in her fourth‑grade play—and kept the accent for a full week afterward, to the patient amusement of everyone around her. It wasn’t just a role. It was the discovery that words, when arranged just right, could transform an ordinary
moment into something magical. That feeling never left.

Her lifelong love of language has shaped everything she’s done since: the search for the perfect phrase that carries an emotion cleanly, the paragraph that paints a scene vivid enough for a reader to step inside, the story that lingers long after the last page. Words have always been her way of exploring the world—and inviting others to explore it with her.

By day, Joslyn is a Business Operations Consultant, uncovering the hidden narrative inside tangled data and turning chaos into clarity. She also serves as a Guardian ad Litem, walking beside children as they navigate the family court system. That work has sharpened her eye for the small, telling details of human behavior—details that become the heartbeat of her fiction, especially when the stakes are high.

Her home is shared with a dog, a cat, and a deep love of the natural world. The young children in her family—from grandchildren to grandniece and grandnephews to little cousins—fill her life with curiosity, laughter, and the
kind of questions that spark entire stories. They are the joyful inspiration behind her children’s picture books—stories written to delight them, surprise them, and give them new worlds to explore.

The A‑to‑Z Animal Hunt series began as a playful challenge: how many creatures could hide in how many unexpected places? An Aardvark in the Attic is her first picture book, the beginning of a three‑book adventure that wanders from the attic to the farm to the sea.  Book Two, An Alpaca in the Alfalfa,
will be out in November and Book Three, An Anglerfish in the Abyss, will be out in December.

Her mystery series, however, is where her creative compass points most often. She is currently at work on an amateur‑sleuth series: Book One, A Stranger’s Last Conversation, is out now, and Book Two, A Detective’s
Last Case
is underway. Book Three, A Father’s Last Deal, is in concept. The mysteries are her main focus—rich with atmosphere, character, and the quiet revelations that come when people are pushed to their limits.

More genres may follow. There are more worlds waiting to be written, and Joslyn has never stopped exploring.

The Jo Whitfield Mysteries

Jo Whitfield didn't set out to become a detective. She just has a bad habit of noticing things — an overheard phone call, a story that doesn't quite add up, a stranger's grief that turns out to matter more than anyone realized. Paired with her best friend and partner-in-nosiness, Bethany, and trailed — reluctantly, then not so reluctantly — by Detective Marcus Doyle, Jo keeps finding herself standing right where a murder investigation needs an outsider's eye. Fast, twisty amateur-sleuth novels — each book stands on its own with a fully solved case, while the world and characters keep growing, book to book. Start with Book One, A Stranger's Last Conversation, and keep going.

A-to-Z Animal Hunt Series

A rhyming, read-aloud alphabet series that hides a real animal — and a real animal fact — in every corner of the house, the farm, and the sea. Three books, three habitats, one letter-by-letter hunt: An Aardvark in the Attic sends readers room to room through a house full of hidden creatures, An Alpaca in the Alfalfa takes the hunt down to the farm, and An Anglerfish in the Abyss carries it out to sea. Every spread pairs a letter with a real animal and a genuine, kid-approved fact, carried by bouncy, Seuss-style rhymes built for reading aloud again and again. Each book ends with a 'Now It's Your Turn!' page that turns storytime into the start of a scavenger hunt. All three books share the same 8.5" x 8.5" trim size and each one can be personalized with your child's name. Perfect for storytime, beginning readers, and animal-obsessed kids of any age. Start anywhere — each hunt stands alone — or collect all three for the full A to Z of house, farm, and sea.
